We all remember what language classes were like in school. Studying grammar rules, memorizing vocabulary lists….

I did French in school and I HATED learning the grammar. I was really bad at it.

The rules, conjugating verbs, learning the names of all the tenses… I remember thinking, “Why do I need to learn all this stuff?”

Well, it turns out, I didn’t!

A few years after almost failing French in school, I gave it another try, and without studying any grammar at all, I was able to learn to speak French.

I found out I wasn’t actually bad at languages, just the grammar!

If you find that you hate studying English grammar, or maybe you like it, and you know the rules, but you’re still not fluent, then watch this Lightning Lesson.

I explain why studying the rules isn’t the best way to become fluent, and what you should do instead.
